Lärs Kēy Kēä (/mʊ̌/ /kíːiː/ [steep] [dish; plate; bowl; cup; container; pot; platter]) is a subtropical Town located in the Doûvnḱínts̄r Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Lärs Kēy Kēä is derived from the Goblin language, as Lärs Kēy Kēä was founded by Goīshv Ermpfē 'Lilith Lovesio' Vú̄nḱ Dawm Mb̪fē̌ Ha̋nvé Méoúch, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Overview

Lärs Kēy Kēä was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1187, by Goīshv Ermpfē 'Lilith Lovesio' Vú̄nḱ Dawm Mb̪fē̌ Ha̋nvé Méoúch. The establishment of Lärs Kēy Kēä was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Goīshv Ermpfē 'Lilith Lovesio' Vú̄nḱ Dawm Mb̪fē̌ Ha̋nvé Méoúch electing to pay people to resettle in Lärs Kēy Kēä.

Lärs Kēy Kēä was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lärs Kēy Kēä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Lärs Kēy Kēä is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow baked earthen streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. The would-be-castle fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Lärs Kēy Kēä has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Lärs Kēy Kēä ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Lärs Kēy Kēä possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Lärs Kēy Kēä's grid is powered by an arcane means.

Lärs Kēy Kēä's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Lärs Kēy Kēä has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Lärs Kēy Kēä's natural decorations nor waterways.

Lärs Kēy Kēä has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Lärs Kēy Kēä has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Lärs Kēy Kēä has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

There’s more than one leader in Lärs Kēy Kēä, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.

Lärs Kēy Kēä's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament.
